I’ve certainly played this guitar in public as is, and received enough ooohs and ahhhs from other musicians that I’ve never bothered to restore it. When I bought the guitar in 1994, this was the condition I found it in. What needs to be addressed is the tuning gears(two have been changed, one is a 60s Kluson), the sparkle pick guard has an added hole (easy fix), and the reinstallation of the original volume and tone pots and knobs, which are included(see photo). ![]() ![]() I’m taking that into consideration with my listing price. However, it can use some physical restoration. This guitar was made in New York City in the late 50s and is in as good as playing condition as any Premier of its era that I’ve seen. The bridge is not fixed and I have a heavy picking hand. But if you have more self control on stage than I do, it could definitely be used for performing. It’s definitely more of a show-off collector piece than it is a workhorse. After I played the Premier for several minutes, he offered to sell it to me and I accepted.Ģ8 years later, I’m selling instruments from my collection to keep only the essential guitars I will need to work. ![]() One was a 1961 Martin D-28 acoustic guitar, and the other was this 1959 Multivox Premier electric guitar. When I first visited my new uncle by marriage in 1994, he learned that I was a professional musician and pulled out the two guitars that he owned. ![]()
